A combination of live virtual instruction and self-paced online learning

Fans and blowers don’t fail in theory — they fail in real systems, under real conditions, with real consequences. That’s exactly where AMCA International delivers unmatched value.

The Fan & Blower Applications Engineering Series is a three-level, progressive program built to strengthen technical confidence, sharpen field skills, and help professionals make better performance decisions — faster.

Whether you’re establishing a solid foundation or validating complex systems in the field, this series meets you where you are and takes you where you need to go.

Built on Momentum. Designed for Real Work.

Following the strong success of AMCA’s most recent Fan & Blower Applications Engineering course, demand is growing for practical, standards-based education that actually translates to the job site.

This hybrid program blends live online instruction, self-paced learning, and concludes with in-person application, giving you flexibility without sacrificing depth. You’ll learn directly from industry veterans Ron Wroblewski and Bill Howarth, whose experience bridges engineering theory and real-world performance.

What sets this series apart:

  • Learning that respects your time — and your expertise
Live online sessions paired with self-paced modules
  • Instruction grounded in AMCA standards and publications, and real systems
    No fluff. No guesswork.
  • Hands-on problem solving and peer interaction
Compare approaches, ask questions, and pressure-test assumptions
  • Digital access to key AMCA standards and publications
  • 18 Professional Development Hours (PDHs)

Each level brings together a highly engaged cohort of professionals from across the air-movement industry — engineers, manufacturers, consultants, and contractors — all focused on getting performance right.

One Series. Three Levels. Real-World Impact.

Level I: Foundations That Matter

Engineering attendees conduct a seminar exercise as part of fan and blower verification and optimization.
Attendees conduct a seminar exercise as part of level III verification and optimization course conduct an exercise.

Beginning Online Fridays, starting March 6 | 9:00 a.m. – Noon CDT

Level I establishes the technical baseline every air-movement professional needs. You’ll gain a clear understanding of fan and blower fundamentals, performance principles, and AMCA standards — creating a shared technical language that carries through the entire series.

Ideal for:

  • Early-career engineers
  • Manufacturer representatives and contractors
  • Professionals transitioning into air-movement roles

This level ensures everyone starts strong — aligned, confident, and ready to build.

Level II: Analyzing Performance & Solving Problems

Fan and blower engineering seminar participants at AMCA International headquarters training room.
Seminar participants at the AMCA International headquarters training room in Arlington Heights, IL. during the level III training sessions.

Beginning Online Fridays, starting April 10 | 9:00 a.m. – Noon CDT

Level II moves beyond fundamentals into system behavior, troubleshooting, and efficiency analysis. You’ll examine how fans actually perform once installed — and why systems so often fall short of expectations.

Especially valuable for:

  • Consulting engineers
  • Commissioning providers
  • Application and design engineers

If you’ve ever looked at a system and thought, “That shouldn’t be happening,” this course gives you the tools to diagnose the issue, quantify the impact, and identify practical solutions.

Level III: Verification, Optimization & Confidence

Beginning Online Friday, October 30 | 9:00–11:30 a.m. CDT
In-Person: Wednesday–Friday, November 18–20

Level III is where everything comes together.

Engineering attendees collect and analyze airflow, pressure, and power data.
Participants collect and analyze airflow, pressure, and power data as part of the verification and optimization curriculum during the level III training sessions.

This advanced course begins online and concludes in person, where participants conduct field-based airflow, pressure, and power measurements, interpret system curves, evaluate uncertainty, and troubleshoot real fan systems using industry-standard instrumentation.

You’ll also receive a guided tour of the AMCA Laboratory, directly connecting classroom theory to accredited performance testing — a perspective few professionals ever get firsthand.

Designed for professionals responsible for high-stakes decisions, including:

  • Consulting and application engineers
  • Manufacturer technical leaders
  • Contractors and system specialists
