The Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA) is a not‑for‑profit international association of air system equipment manufacturers — primarily fans, louvers, dampers, and air curtains used in commercial buildings and industrial processes.

AMCA’s mission is to promote the health, growth and integrity of our industry, consistent with the public interest.  AMCA was founded in 1917, and now has over 300 members, half of which are located inside the USA. AMCA members employ over 60,000 Americans.

AMCA International is a valuable resource and a strong means of self regulation for our industry. People who buy and specify fans, dampers, and louvers need to be aware of the value of the AMCA International seal.

During the last 90 years of representing the air movement and control industry (over fifty years as its consolidated voice), AMCA International has provided value to its membership with the following services:
  • Participation in the development of standards
  • Certified Ratings Program
  • CRP White Paper
  • Fan Efficiency White Paper
  • Unique state-of-the art testing laboratory - AMCA Headquarters
  • Independent AMCA accredited laboratories in Singapore, and Korea.
  • Industry statistics and quarterly forecasting reports
  • Engineering, Technical Conferences and educational programs
  • Press Releases
  • AMCA Magazine "inmotion"
  • AMCA Energy Focus Newsletter

   Certified Ratings Directory

AMCA International's members recognized from the day the association was formed that its Certified Ratings Programs were and would continue to be one of the most important functions of the Association. Their purpose is to give the buyer, specifier, and user of air movement and control equipment assurance that published ratings are reliable and accurate.

AMCA Video Program, "System Effects"

System Effects When designing buildings and air systems, minimizing energy use is of the utmost importance. The emphasis must be on eliminating System Effects rather than simply identifying and accounting for them. System Effects: * Fan performance Loss * Due to adverse flow conditions at the inlet and outlet And May Cause: * Increased Noise * Intensified Vibration * Premature Impeller or Bearing Failure Available in US Customary Measurement or SI Metric. Versions available in English, Chinese, and Euro-Spanish.

ANSI/AMCA Standard 205-12, "Energy Efficiency Classification for Fans"

This standard defines the energy efficiency classification for fans. The scope includes fans having an impeller diameter of 125 mm (5 in.) or greater, operating with a shaft power 750 W (1 hp) and above, and having a total efficiency calculated according to one of the following fan test standards: ANSI/AMCA 210, ANSI/AMCA 230, AMCA 260, or ISO 5801. All other fans are excluded. The standard only applies to the fan, not the fan drive or the fan system.

This standard can be used by legislative or regulatory bodies
to define the energy efficiency requirements of fans used
in specific applications.
